Summer is upon us, and you know what that means? Video game sales. That’s right, it’s time to stock up on digital copies of games that will sit mostly untouched in our digital libraries for months or years! I’ve done it for over a decade so let’s keep it going and check out the PlayStation Summer Sale 2022!
The PlayStation Summer Sale 2022 is up now and will end August 17. Sony is offering up almost 1400 games, new and old, at various discounts. The last decade has seen some incredible games, so I don’t pay much attention to new games on sale as I do to games I might have missed out on because I was too focused on something else at the time they were released.
So, I put together the following list of 17 games (I think are worth checking out) based on the best discounts. The list is in alphabetical order.
- Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown – TOP GUN: Maverick Edition –
- Batman: Arkham Collection –
- Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition –
- Diablo Prime Evil Collection –
- Disco Elysium – The Final Cut –
- DRAGON BALL FIGHTERZ –
- Dragon’s Dogma –
- Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade –
- God of War –
- It Takes Two –
- Red Dead Redemption 2 –
- STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order –
- STAR WARS Battlefront II –
- NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… –
- Tekken 7 –
- The Ascent –
- Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection –
PlayStation Summer Sale 2022 Recommendations
The Diablo Prime Evil Collection contains Diablo II and Diablo III along with their expansions. The quality of Diablo III is up for debate, but it can be fun. Diablo II, however, is top shelf Diablo. If you’re a fan of hack-and-slash RPG’s and you haven’t played Diablo II, pick up this collection. It is from the golden era of Blizzard when they made great games without monetizing them to hell and back.
Many consider Dragon Ball FighterZ to be one of the best Dragon Ball games as well as one of the best modern fighting games. As kids in the 90s, my friends and I would sit around dreaming up what the best Dragon Ball Z video game would be like. Back then we tracked down Japanese versions of games like Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout and Dragon Ball Z: Legend. Later I played numerous Budokai, Tenkaichi, and Xenoverse titles. After putting 600 hours into Dragon Ball FighterZ, this is the closest thing I’ve played to that video game my friends and I dreamed about.
Star Wars Battlefront II has its issues, but it is still one of the most fun Star Wars games I’ve played. The graphics are beautiful and immersive, the controls are smooth and responsive, and you get to fight in epic 40-player battles from across the Star Wars universe. Starfighter dog fights, huge land battles involving vehicles and lightsaber wielding heroes and villains, and a variety of game modes that will keep you entertained. Even in 2022, five years after the release, the game is fun and worth it, especially on sale.
