It’s May which means it’s time to dive back into the Crowdfunding waters to discover some new and amazing Kickstarter Comics to support. May is a Hell of a month on Kickstarter with so many interesting books to choose from. It can be daunting to choose a winner blindly!

Well, worry not!

I did the heavy lifting and found five Kickass Kickstarter Campaigns to throw your money, love and support at. From Horror to Sci-Fi and Wrestling to Wuxia there is something here for everybody!

First Kickstarter Comic to Support – Battle Grapple: Rebel

First into the ring is Battle Grapple: Rebel! A Galactic Pro-Wrestler struggles to save the galaxy during an ensuing civil war! Yes… that DOES sound awesome.

In the far future, humanity has expanded to the distant stars and planets of the cosmos. The most popular form of entertainment is the BATTLE GRAPPLE.

We follow new grappler, Spin Kilter, fresh from his training at Coach Moonah’s Gym and trying to make a name for himself as an indie grappler. BATTLE GRAPPLE: REBEL is the story of how one man can spark a revolution!

Next Kickstarter Comic to Support – House of Fear Vol. 1 & 2

Next up is a new trade paperback collecting 176 pages of giant spiders, shape-shifting aliens, sinister pumpkins, and more!

House of Fear is a comic book series featuring stand-alone, fantasy-adventure stories told in the trappings of classic horror. Written by James Powell, with art by Jethro Morales. The chapter break art is by James Hislope, colors by Josh Jensen, and letters/designs by Matt Krotzer. 

This Kickstarter campaign is to raise funds to print House of Fear: Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow and Other Scary Stories. This 176-page volume collects eight tales from the House of Fear series, and includes two new stories!

House of fear is a beautiful Horror anthology with heart. It’s live until May 24th so you have plenty of time to back and boost!

An Exciting Kickstarter Comic to Support – Fa Sheng: Origins #1

The epic journey of the death-cheating, mind-bending Shaolin Master begins here, in a thrilling, all-new wuxia comic.

An all ages Kickstarter Comic to Support: ADVENTURES OF CTHULHU JR. & FRIENDS

When the lovable Cthulhu Jr. and a wannabe supervillain cross paths, hilarity and hijinks ensue in this new all-ages graphic novel!

In THE ADVENTURE OF CTHULHU JR. & FRIENDS, a wannabe supervillain has to capture the son of Cthulhu (who just happened to move in across the street for the summer) in order to be admitted into the League of E.V.I.L. Hilarity, hijinks, and, yes, even a little (all-ages appropriate) horror ensues as the “dastardly” villain starts to realize that perhaps his priorities are misaligned… unlike the stars, which are entering their proper alignment for the return of “The Great Evil One!” 

Co-created by Dirk Manning and Scoot McMahon (with Sean Burres on colors and Leah Lederman as editor), this graphic novel was created as a book to be enjoyed by readers of all ages! Much like classic cartoons such as Looney Tunes or modern offerings such as Animaniacs, kids and adult readers alike will take different laughs (and perhaps even a few lessons) away from this 120+ page graphic novel reading experience.
