Microsoft is Giving Away 3 Months of PC Game Pass

PC Game Pass—If you played Age of Empires 4, you might be eligible

Have you tried PC Game Pass recently? Did you try one of Microsoft’s big hits in the fall? If so, you might be eligible to receive three months of the subscription for free! So check it out: Microsoft is running a promotion for new subscribers who recently played one of the major fall releases.

If you meet the following criteria, you are eligible:

  • You’re not a previous Game Pass subscriber
  • Played Age of Empires IV, Forza Horizon 5, or Halo Infinite on PC between launch and February 28, 2022
  • You were logged into your Microsoft account when you played

This is great news because the PC side of Game Pass has a library of great games that make the subscription fee of $10/month worth it. Microsoft consistently makes available some of their best selling titles on the subscription service because they understand the importance of keeping their customers in their universe. It’s a value proposition Sony could learn from.

What can you play on PC Game Pass?

Here are some of the most popular games on PC Game Pass:

  • Halo Infinite
  • Back 4 Blood
  • Twelve Minutes
  • The Medium
  • Crusader Kings III
  • Halo: The Master Chief Collection
  • Final Fantasy XV
  • Gears 5
  • Dishonored 2
  • Ori and the Will of the Wisps
  • Streets of Rage 4
  • Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
  • Darksiders III
  • Forza Horizon 4

PC Game Pass is the only gaming service I pay for these days because It’s hard to deny the value of that library. The first time I tried it was because I wanted to play Sea of Thieves back in 2018. I saw it was available to play on Game Pass so I signed up. It is still the only gaming service I consistently subscribe to. I play a handful of games consistently (like Crusader Kings III) and I’m always surprised to find some new or classic game in the library. If you’re on the fence about it, this promotion is a great way to try it out without risking any money.

And who knows, you might just find your new favorite game! I know I did when I tried Crusader Kings III for the first time and several hundred hours later I still enjoy starting a new game somewhere in the world. I also just tried Ori a couple months ago and loved it. That game brought a tear to my eyes several times. It’s a beautiful artistic storytelling experience I recommend everyone try.

Do you have PC Game Pass? What are your thoughts on the service? What games have you found through it that you might not have found otherwise?
