Mafia 4 in Development but No Release Date Yet

Hangar 13 confirmed Mafia 4 is in development but did not give a release date. Also, it might not be called Mafia 4, but it’s the next Mafia game so let’s roll with it.
Hangar 13 General Manager Roman Hladík stated in an interview:
“I’m happy to confirm we’ve started work on an all-new Mafia project! While it’s a few years away and we can’t share anything more right now, we’re really excited to keep working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories.”
In the interview, Roman and Media Director Tomáš Hřebíček reflected on the last 20 years of Mafia adventures before making the announcement.
Not familiar with the Mafia franchise?
The Mafia franchise is a series of games originally developed by 2K Czech. Then Hangar 13 took over and developed Mafia III and Mafia: Definitive Edition. The games are set in fictional locales with American aesthetics during iconic historical eras from the 1930s to the 1960s.
Gameplay revolves around players completing missions in an open world environment to progress the story. It’s similar to the GTA and Red Dead games but more linear. The story focuses on different individuals who get involved with the Mafia. Some try to climb the organized criminal corporate ladder while others attempt to bring it down.
We don’t yet know when and where the Mafia 4 in development will take place. But because the games have moved forward through time with each title, can we expect a 1980s Miami setting to relive Scarface?
We can only hope.
