Kingdom Hearts 4 Confirmed: The Trio Returns for Epic Adventure

Kingdom Hearts 4 Title

Kingdom Hearts fans rejoice! Square Enix has confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 4 is now in development. Sora, Donald, and Goofy embark on a brand-new adventure with an epic new storyline called the Lost Master Arc. Square Enix released the trailer during a 20th anniversary livestream for the franchise. And wow, Kingdom Hearts looks better than ever!

Kingdom Hearts 4 Confirmed: Sora, Donald Duck, and Goofy are Back!

Kingdom Hearts 4’s first trailer shows us the Quadratum. Quadratum is an “expansive city set in a gorgeous, realistic world unlike anything ever seen before in the Kingdom Hearts series.”

We see Sora wake up in a sparse modern apartment. He seems to be a part of this world, Quadratum. And he engages a shadowy giant monster in battle as soon as it appears.

Finally, at the end of the trailer Donald Duck and Goofy search for Sora in darkness until they get attacked by an unseen foe.

Is that Quadratum or are you just happy to see me?

Big Thanks!

Kingdom Hearts 4 series brand manager Ichiro Hazama said, “We’d like to thank the fans for all of their support over the years, and we can’t wait for them to experience all that’s to come for Sora.”

Nana Gadd, director at Walt Disney Games added, “We’ve been honored to work with Tetsuya Nomura and his team for two decades to introduce these original stories of discovery, courage, and friendship. This glimpse into Sora’s next adventure is just the beginning — we can’t wait to show more when the time is right.”

Fans are already eagerly awaiting its release date later this year

Square Enix did not announce a release date or platforms for Kingdom Hearts 4.

Kingdom Hearts 3 got a similar announcement trailer in 2013. But it was not released for another six years (for PS4 and Xbox One) in 2019. But it came to PC in 2021 and Nintendo Switch in 2022.

It’s unclear how Square Enix will handle this entry on PC. They have a less than stellar history with other PC ports. Not to mention, Kingdom Hearts 3 did not see a PC port until it was released on the Epic Store. And it was only found alongside Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. I want the meeting minutes for the brainstorm that came up with that title.

This is the only way Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue was allowed

We will have to wait and see what Square Enix has in store for us! What do you think of the new trailer? Are you excited for Kingdom Hearts 4? Let us know in the comments below!
